“Incredible staff. You can learn so much from different people.”
Teachers have their attention split a hundred ways a day when they aren’t teaching students. Assignments need marking, tomorrow’s lessons need planning, and administration likely wants an update on how things are going. They simply don’t have time to ensure that in addition to giving your child their full attention during the school day, and that assignments are getting marked and reported in a timely way, and that their supervision shifts are planned, and that they’ve checked in with their principal for that week, that they can also be sitting back to explore the advances in education. There simply isn’t time for an in-depth analysis of education trends, or for rigorous testing to ensure new initiatives will improve the student experience at CA.
That’s where our affiliate, CERA can help. CERA is dedicated to applied research focused on bridging the gap between the latest educational advancements and current classroom delivery. For us, this means our teachers can remain focused on delivering the best learning experiences for our students, while CERA keeps an eye on the future of education, exploring, testing and refining new education practices before implementing them in our classrooms.
CA teachers can concentrate their efforts on their top priority: their students, while still enjoying constant access to onsite experts in education who provide research-backed, customized professional development on leading educational practices to better students’ education experiences.
Several CERA programs have been successfully piloted at CA and have led to the evolution of our program design and initiatives such as the Remediation Period and Learning Centres.
